A staple visit when home to Ayr. My sister was married here and it's a bit of an institutional building for meeting up for coffee and lunch.
I came with my daughter to meet friends as everyone knows the Horizon Hotel at this stage.
Massive carpark too with great sea views for your chips.
Gordon looked after us and was flying the high Horizon standard as always.
This was an incredible positive experience. We were looking for a stop over place to spend the night and to break a long journey. We got a place we would gladly have spent a week!
First, we were informed of the parking facilities prior to our arrival which was so much appreciated!!
The location - right on the amazing Ayr esplanade and incredible beach and views.
The hotel - spotless and well maintained. It may not be even toy build but the rooms were very comfortable and with good service.
The best however were each and every member of staff - genuinely happy to be there themselves! And it showed - attentive friendly and welcoming. I have to mention Lindsay who was in charge of the restaurant and bar. Attentive and managing a very competent team.
The food was excellent both in presentation and price.
And to top it off dog friendly - so much so they treated our dog like a friend.
We intent to be back and often! Well done - for us it exceeded all expectations
Directly on the beach. The rooms are big. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast is a lot and delicious. The dinner in the restaurant was really good. It is no problem to stay there with children.
Stayed overnight with my partner , £155 for king size bed and breakfast inc,
the kingsize bed was 2 single beds pushed together, the en-suite shower was tiny with cheap shower curtain & no complimentary shower gels just a hand wash at sink, had to move bedside cabin to access wardrobe doors, payment was taken from our credit card before we had even got the hotel which I think was disgraceful. Only good thing about this hotel was the bar staff he was very pleasant polite and helpful apart from this nice young man I would not recommend this hotel it was not worth the £155 per night that we paid
I attended a 1st Birthday party here with my wife. Function is located on the second floor and was a perfect size for 100 guest. Service was excellent through out the night.
We also managed to secure a room that night as the hotel is usually fully booked. Room and bathroom was very clean. We also had the pleasure meet the owners and they were very accommodating, friendly and hospitable.
Hotel is located right by the beach with a sea view. Beach is 20 a second walk away.
Will be staying here again when visiting the area.
My sister and I stayed here for one night in July 2023. We were going to a concert in the Gaiety Theatre and wanted somewhere close to the theatre. The hotel is situated close to the bus station and the town centre while having a beautiful seafront location. We had booked bed and breakfast, and so glad we did as the breakfast menu was excellent. We opted for the full Scottish breakfast, which was delicious. The breakfast menu covers cereals, fruit, yoghurt, juices, and quite a good range of cooked foods, including fish and vegetarian options. If you haven't booked breakfast with your stay, it's available at a very reasonable price.
The staff in the hotel are friendly, helpful and efficient.
I would definitely stay in this hotel again. It's very well priced, and though the furnishings could do with a bit of an update, that would probably have an impact on the price.
We were at the horizon hotel tribute night on Saturday the 8 th October there were 9 of us celebrating part of my daughter Michelle’s 50th birthday the best way to describe our experience was 3 star prices but 5 star treatment from start to finish only stayed 1 night will stay longer next time thank you Lorraine and all staff xx
Hotel ideally situated for the air show. Very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and well presented. Can’t fault the service and quality.
